ARTIST'S NOTE: Horsemen in Morocco perform a mock battle during festival times, and whole villages participate in the event. The objective is to ride the horses at full speed and fire their guns in unison. This photo was awarded "the Best Outdoor" photo of the year from GRAPHIS magazine in 1991. 

ABOUT THE ARTIST: As a photographer for the United Nations from 1978 to 1998, John Isaac has covered everything from the Cambodian killing fields of Pol Pot and the famine in Ethiopoa to wars in Kuwait, Bosnia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East. John's dramatic images have won many awards, and he now concentrates on his own work, which has exhibited from Tokyo to Paris. He shoots exclusively with Olympus cameras.
