“Antique Roses”
Wet paper negative print, Canon EOS A2,
Fuji Provia, Polaroid 669 film.

This was a bouquet of red and yellow roses that I shot at a Santa Monica public market flower stand. Even though the original slide is very vivid and bright, imaging (scanning) through thick emulsion tends to give a rich matte look—somewhat like a mezzotint—and definitely softens the colors. It looks very old (antique) to me.
