The garden, again, provided wonderful design possibilities for any shooting. There were a pair of huge red roses exactly the same size and shape. This is their abstracted portrait. What really shows up on the film’s negative is the marks I made on the film as it developed. The markings show up as the darker lines, and there are faint residual colors that “sit” on the backing of the film (which I had wet)—this is what produces these images. The positive image is on the part of the film I chose not to use.
