JUSTICE

Justice has long existed as a social ideal and was revered by the great civilizations as a symbol of blind equality for all men. Today, she is an icon of the law and of the judgements of society over the actions of the individual man.

But true justice wears no blindfold. She sits on a throne where all knowledge resides. She rules from the halls of Superconsciousness which hold the records of all times and civilizations, forcing each to answer to the laws of karma. This deeper truth is not always visible, but outside forces cannot change its outcome, and judgements by man cannot alter its course.

The unbiased scales weigh more than mortal eyes can see on the surface, and balance to a universal reality based on a karmic past, present and future. This equilibrium exists between thought and action, cause and effect, each creating the other. Her sword of authority pierces illusion and the two edges symbolize choice, each having its own consequences. She is crowned with pearls of wisdom, and has the authority to speak them. Justice administers the law and has the power to enforce it.

Justice teaches the soul to evolve by karmic action and to progress to a state of balanced harmony. Fittingly, Justice is the central card of the tarot deck’s major arcana. As card Eleven, she balances the progression of the other 21 Trumps.
