There is a Stillness

There is a stillness
which stretches out
within the silence
it hovers and
bathes the human
spirit with
chilled wind
fortifying
a desolation
and anxiety
to the brink
of fear

There is a stillness
which reaches
within
without silence
it lives in
the caverns
of the heart
it showers us
with warmth
believing in
what we are
and casts
the radiation
of love . . . now
There is a stillness
which emanates
into completion
it consoles
us and
helps us to
meditate and
understand
this is a
joy this
is a salvation
this is life

There is a stillness
that occurs
which transforms
us
the change is
time
and it passes by
this interloper
it interposes
and then we
await
this stillness
that closes
we were

Emptiness Is Lonely

Is it gone the time
we were together
is it gone the hours
we lived together
is it gone the moments
we shared as one
time is past
and we have past with it
but the remembrance
lingers and it sets
the image strong
the visual dynamic
...emptiness is lonely

Has it gone the moments
we have been as one
has it gone the hours
we have created
has it gone the moments
we have been entwined
today we will have
been past
and we will have been
what we were
who we were
when was I
were we ever
... emptiness is lonely

Will it have gone the time
will we have been
will the hours
have disappeared
will the moment disintegrate
into a mere mention in a letter
will we think of
what we were
when we were
how we were
will we ever enjoy
what we could
what we would
will we remember
those images of ours
will we...
will we remember
... emptiness is lonely
